I've decided to upload my second composition here at Young Composers (the first one was a two-part invention).

This one is a canon in augmentation (the second voice has the tune at half the speed). In the middle the voices switch and repeat in double counterpoint at the 8va.

Please give me some feedback, and tell me what you think of this, and if there's something technically wrong (I'm not professionally trained in counterpoint).

Hope you'll like:)

Not bad for not being trained in CP! The biggest concern I have is it doesn't really go anywhere through the piece. It seems really monotone, staying within one region of the key, without wandering or exploring other areas, if that makes any sense. Try modulation, or emphasizing the melody somehow.

the original subjact' which is rephrased is realy good, but i agree with seph, it doesnt go anywhere

your invention 1 was better. Try to escape monotony even within the restraints of counterpoint. Good effort!

Gisly,I believe you have more talent than you realize, watch what i did with your "canon in

augmentation" with the new title of "Canon for the queen". I hope you don't take it as an

insult, but the connective tissue is intruiging. Be sure to configure your computer to

produce a mild reverb echo like parking lot but not like concert hall, because I believe

That every musician with computer-aided technology should make this configuration a

permanent one unless you possess a better one like awe32 or soundblaster soundcards etc...

I Think You will like your piece even more or at least I hope so hence it is a learning

experience, very educational.Excuse my impertinance.Tell me what you think even though it

was a mild differential interpretation which used to sound like BACH but now more like

the great Domenico Scarlatti.

Pretty good gils. I recommend learning how to handle suspensions, anticipations and baroque affect as it will help you knit your phrases and transition more tightly. The study of affect is useful when considering motivic development and constructing melodic/motivic material.

Sorry not comment sooner.

I agree with this. Maybou you could make some rhythmic variation, or put some rests in the two parts.
