Sonatina for violin and piano

After Vocalise, another piece for violin and piano. I am not very good with titles, so I simply call it Sonatina. Comments always welcome!

Hi, I like your sonatina. It's modern, innovativ and includes intresting harmony, you also seem very familiar with both instruments. Some parts sound a lot like impressionism. I'm missing som more contrast sometimes, but I don't think the piece looses intrest. I must say that the reconding is amazing, very well played and great quality. The score is missing some piano here and there, but overall a very nice experience

Thanks. In fact I have to complete the piano part - when I play I tend to improvise certain passages until I like one version enough to write it down. Not a very scientific method, but it works fine for me :)

Thanks for the comment. French impressionism and Jazz are admittedly my most important sources of inspiration.

I thought this was a wonderful piece. Interesting, and idiomatic it seemed, for both piano and violin.

I too enjoyed this one. I had a very clear langauge and mood. It felt well crafted. The fact that your inspired by French impressionisme became clear to me at once. I thought the melodies were quite clever. Maybe some contrast would do the piece well indeed. But I did like it like this.

Nice music! I commend you for cultivating a style that is both modern and easily understandable...don't we all dream for that. Very imaginative, lots of surprising but interesting key changes, and it kept my interest right to the end. It really sounded like music for violin and piano as well, if that makes any sense. Oh, and nice recording. Everything sounds better actually performed by real musicians.

Hearing a piece for violin and piano reminded me of Smetana's two nationalistic pieces for violin and piano, "From the Homeland." That's excellent music too.
