beautifulnoise Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Hi everyone, This competition is nearly the same as my previous, "Olympia" competition. Since that competition was never judged (my sincere apology) those who completed a piece for it may resubmit them in this competition (please send submissions to my email, hb.prince.1995@gmail.com). Also, the first three people who volunteered to judge the Olympia competition are welcome to judge this contest. The rules are: write a piece symbolising something from greek mythology (god, goddess, titan, hero, monster, setting (underworld, mt. olympus, etc.), etc. The piece must be between 1 and 30 minutes. Solos or any kind of ensemble are fine. 1st place 2nd place 3rd place possibly two honorable mentions, it depends on how many contestants there are. deadline June 21, winner declared by July 3. anyone interested? micah
False Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Yeah, Im interested. But are we turning it in on June 21, or any time before June 21?
beautifulnoise Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 you can turn it in anytime, as long as it is before midnight on the 20th.

When still eligable, I would very much like to be a member of the jury. Just let me know... Regards, FDC
Beethoven guy Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Yeah, Im interested. But are we turning it in on June 21, or any time before June 21? Hi, When checking the calender today, it crossed my mind that we are five days past the actual deadline of the competition. Is this contest being prolonged or are the scores still due as I have not received any score to judge until now. Sincerely yours, FDC
impresario Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Well, I'm currently composing songs based on greek gods, and this would help me a lot! I just need to know if it's still on or not.
James H. Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 We are past the declaration date, would somebody like to explain what's going on with this? How many entries? Who are judges? Why not done?
impresario Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 No idea, this guy keeps starting, leaving and startig over. Maybe someone else more responsible should restart this competition, allowing old entries to be handed in again.
Beethoven guy Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 No idea, this guy keeps starting, leaving and startig over. Maybe someone else more responsible should restart this competition, allowing old entries to be handed in again. Well, we are coming close not to the 21 of june but to the 21st of July. When posting a question on June 24th, regarding the competition I got no answer. I am rephrasing my question again: I really would like to know what is happening to this competition. No info, no scores, no nothing.... . Could somebody point me out here? Kind regards FDC
beautifulnoise Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 yes the time is up... however there was only like one entry =( any suggestions?
James H. Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 How many submissions have you received total, from this and the previous instalment of this competition?
beautifulnoise Posted July 27, 2009 Author Posted July 27, 2009 one. twilight on olympus - thefury2600 i thought there was another by edgar = artimeis but can't find it...
James H. Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 How about we continue advertising this competition until like... December? Or we could just have a running deadline. Do you want to get more entries, or just give up on the idea?
beautifulnoise Posted July 29, 2009 Author Posted July 29, 2009 yeah, i'd like to get more entries! what deadline would you suggest?
impresario Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I started a new contest here: http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/greek-mythology-competition-21271.html#post310537 Shalom, you can be a judge if you'd like to see your idea come through.
