Evolution of a Parasite

Featured Replies

If you read the Lack of Faith thread, it's more or less teh same story. I really explored more with this one however. It's basically a piece with hardly any notes outside teh diminished scale. Some of the harmony was based on a matrix, where I plugged the scale in and out came rows :) I hope you enjoy this, it's my favorite out of the fresh batch.

Vince, I loves you, but you're never on. wah

Good piece- the couple bars near the beginning in polyrhythms stood out as vewwwyy impressive.

It strikes me as being film score-like a lot of the time, but it's not over the top. Good transitions, contrasts, etc.

Nice worrkkkk, not much else to say right now lol.

This is amazing and would sound so frickin cool if played for real. You're a really talented composer. Sounded creepy but very cool at the same time, reminded me a bit of a science fiction movie.

This is interesting, well I could almost feel the bug hehe, but I think you repeat some of the stuff to much, but the piece is inspirering nevertheless. I like the modern harmony a lot.

Thanks for all the feedback guys :) It sounded kinda meh live, the piano player had a bit of trouble in the faster sections, but nevertheless sounded way better than Sib. I appriciate all of your input...thanks!

I love diminished scales so I got a kick out of this.

I know that you can feel constrained when doing a piece for a class. But each exercise does teach ideas that you can use in the future when you will be freer to use what you want and discard at will.

I see absolutely no reason for you not to be proud of this one. Give it some time and when you revisit it I think you will be very happy with it.

Thanks for teh comment Ron, your advice is always inspiring and helpful.

I am proud of the form I used, because it was something I've never done before. I just think I could of done more with this one because of my time constraint, but meh oh well

Thanks as always Ron

I really enjoyed the style of this piece, and diatonicism in a diminished key is a very cool idea :) The piece reminded me a lot of a piece called "Escape From Chronopolis" by Reber Clark, which is a somewhat obscure piece, but one I enjoyed a lot. Nice job.

I enjoyed this! Very picturesque.

I'd say more, but I gotta dash off; I need to do that picture that Nico assigned me. ><

Thanks for the comments guys, I appriciate the time you spent listening to my music :)
