Is that you playing on the recording? There's a couple of awkward chord moves, but it looks like this was written by somebody who knows the instrument pretty well. Without being condescending, it reminded me little of Popper's studies - not forgetting that he was also a prolific composer of salon pieces and miniatures rather like this one.

i think it's something like an etude... Check your chords, some of them are very hard and 'uncelloish'. And it's a bit short :)

there are two other movements. I'll post them later.

Cool :) I like it. I would like it faster though. It is a gigue afterall. When I say faster I mean... twice the speed. Like what Gould would do with Bach on the keyboard. I can hear a bit of Bach in this. You like tonal music and that is great but maybe one or two places where a more sexy chord, a little more dissonance would add some spice.
