This is not the forum for showing off music.

Actually, that's exactly what it is. Sometimes, commentary is involved.

There are other forums more suitable for showing off the music of someone. And better yet, the mod (me) thought so, so it is done now and the thread is moved to the incidental music forum. ;)

Music sounds nice. Production is not bad (although mixing could be a bit better, in terms of frequencies mostly, rather than instruments (which are almost non existant in this paste of sounds)).

The only thing that actually 'bothered' me was the crash cymbals in the beginning that were all the same (same recording, or same velocity depending on what you used) and it sounded somewhat "fake" (although it's not the right word, thus the "").

It's absolutley messy and unhearble.

The main idea is ok but the production is made completley wrong.

The ECHO all over the track, the low quality, the timing, the instruments...

Big NO NO from me.

This is not the place for showing off your music......lol who said I was here to show off lol......i joined the site yesterday and already someone comes out wit something crappy to say, Im here to colab wit other composers and to link up with chats on music....But now Im thinking otherwise abit because it seems like some people have no sence...did you guys that left those comments ever stop to think that maybe im just looking for someones feedback ....im all for feedback that will help, not just plain out hatred towards a fellow producer,... thats just wrong. but hey it's a free country to say what you want but its another to say things that just have no good towards others. like the old saying goes "if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all." ...well for those of you that did leave a normal comment, i thank you!

at the end of the day do as god says

love thy enemy

god bless you all

even my haters!

take care & have a blessed day

Welcome to YC

I enjoyed this. I am not a big fan of putting music on myspace as their bitrate is too low (128).

I also hear what Nikolas is talking about. The same seems true with the bells later in the piece. If you alter their velocities a little more, they would sound better.

Also it helps if you comment on other's music. Some will return the favor and that is what makes this site work.

stay at it my man!

Not bad man, i'm a fan of 80's horror scores...writing one myself right now.

I'm going to have to agree with a couple of the above comments. The cymbals sound pretty horrible(i'd take 'em out to be honest) and the bells could be tweaked vel-wise.

You've really captured the essense of some old school horror music. The mix sounds messy and it would prob sound a lot better without that horrible myspace compression, just link your work up to a free audio host. Nice job man!

I liked it. Especially the muffled, muddy "bad-quality"-sound which gave it a distinct character. (I suppose that's what you mean by "vintage style".)

I have to agree with the others though on the cymbal (and to a lesser degree) sounds. For my taste they're much too direct too. They could stand to be more in the background and maybe blended in with their surroundings more by making their quality a bit worse (some kind of distortion maybe) and not having them sound the same every time they come. The same goes for the bells, which might also gain more life with some tiny LFO effects (e.g. small variations in frequency and/or amplitude).

OK THIS IS THE FINAL......CAUSE IM NOT GONNA GO BACK IN FORTH WITH IMATURE PEOPLE ON THIS SITE.......LAST BUT NOT LEAST ANYONE WHO HAS MYSPACE MUSIC BAND PAGE KNOWS THE MUSIC PLAYER ARE NOT HIGH IN AUDIO QUALITY TO BEGAN WITH WHETHER U MASTERED UR MUSIC BEFORE U UPLOAD IT OR NOT UR NOT GONNA GET VERY HIGH IN QUALITY WITH THE PLAYER ON MYSPACE ITS A BIG ISSUE AND REASON FOR THE CHANGE UP OF THE NEW PLAYER ON MYSPACE BUT ITS STILL PRETTY MUCH NOT HIGH LIKE IT SHOULD FOR MUSIC USERS....UNLIKE OTHER MUSIC PLAYERS THATS HIGH ON DIFFERENT SITES......2 MY PRODUCTION IS HIGH QUALITY IF IT CAME OUT DIFFERENT ELSE WHERE IS NOT ON MY END CAUSE IT PLAYS HIGH ON EVERYWHERE ELSE OTHER MUSIC PLAYER,SOFTWARE AND SO ON. DO UR HOMEWORK PEOPLE PLEASE...

THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT FEEDBACK AND COMMENTS ON MY PRODUCTION

I APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH

TAKE CARE AND HAVE A BLESSED DAY

Calm down. You posted your music and several people replied, giving their (mostly quite favourable, I might add) opinion on how it sounded to them. "Sound quality" is a very broad term and people might have meant totally different things than the effects the myspace player had on it - but that's not even the important point.

The important point is that people reading your thread are not required to "do their homework" first - they are perfectly entitled to voice their opinion based on their current knowledge. And you are perfectly entitled to mention why you think these reviews might be unjustified. But you really have no reason to shout at people who did exactly what this forum is all about, i.e. give a honest, personal feedback on your music. I take it from your words that you do not intend to post more works here and you might not even read this. If you do however at some point plan to upload some more music, I'd advise on a change of attitude, or your thread is unlikely to get a lot of views and comments.

I actually think all the production "problems" discussed on the previous page actually gave the track more of an atmosphere. I liked it!

I agree with kevin. I think you nailed the old vintage sound perfectly.. If you listen to professional scores from that time they actually didn't sound like they do today, they had a certain 'cheapness' to them I think you do here good.
