For EWQL users: How much RAM do you have?

Ugh, sequencing on a laptop is something I'll never miss.

Does gold do better with the things Silver is awful at? Also, do you have a laptop? If so, how did you get an ASIO driver?

If you can afford it, then try and go for Platinum - there are far more articulations at your disposal. I use that and am impressed with the 3 mic positions of all instruments (except piano) so that you can create really lush sounding textures by mixing in the surround mics, or just having quite intimate pieces by only using the close-up mics. It's a huge amount of DVDs to load up though - took me 17 hours!

I use XP 32 bit, so it can only handle at the most, 4 instances loaded up in Cubase. After that, I find that I have to start rendering audio, as drop outs and splats randomly occur.

I will be switching to Windows 7 64 bit in the near future with an Intel i7 980x chip (6 cores) and 12 gigs of RAM (the motherboard can take 24 gigs of RAM in total), so it should really fly.
