Stoopid newbie question

Featured Replies

Hi

I am a newbie to sibelius, and cannot figure out how to delete actual staves. I can delete the content of redundent staves just fine - but how do you delete the bars, pages etc you do not want? Simple I am sure - but I can't figure it out!!

Thanks for any help!

This has been troubling me also. I haven't a clue.

me too :)

use Finale :glare:

I was confused by this for a while too. Triple click so that the entire stave is highlighted in the entire piece. Then hit delete.

Hmmmm - may be I am not such a stoopid newbie after all! Thanks for your replies - the triple click works fine if you want to delete the content, but it doesn't actually delete the staves and barlines - unless I am still being stoopid! - one for sibelius perhaps?

To delete bars, ctrl-shift-click the bar and it'll be selected with a double border. If you hit delete at that point, the bar will be removed.

Ahhh - so thats how you do it!! Thanks - looks like I was not the only one wondering how to this - glad I asked the question!

Indeed. Thanksmuch.

To delete bars, ctrl-shift-click the bar and it'll be selected with a double border. If you hit delete at that point, the bar will be removed.

You can also do it with just holding the ctrl key. Holding ctrl and clicking a measure creates a system selection. Shift will come in handy if you want to extend the selection.
