:) Nice setup! How much did all that cost?

a mac mini? seriously? good luck...

I'd suggest getting another monitor as well, that thing looks cluttered!

hamm, let me see:

Mini Mac/Monitor/Keyboard-Mouse/Software: $ 3000.00

Kaoss Pad: € 320.00

Behringer: $ 550.00

Sony Stero/speakers/headphones: $250.00

Yamaha: $130.00

Bilbe: $ 70.00

total: around $ 4500 dollars

mmm, mac mini? works :) and very fine. The monitor is nice too, in the pics always seems bad, but is big, full of colours and cool resolution.

I like your mixer, ... is much better than mine. I don't have very much Audio hardware, what I do have is real instruments, Pianos, Violins, Saxes, Clarinet, E.Bass, E.Guitar, Mandolins, Trumpet, and whole collection of trash thingies haha ... cheap Quenas, Recorders, Triangle, Castagnets, Sleighbell, etc .....

and....... two metal squared sheets from an electric oven that I use as Tam-tams  ...they sound good, ... it's true

thanks for move it...

WOW! Nice investment.

I agree with Andy, I was shocked to a Mac Mini as your DAW. Those things are not very reliable, not very powerful and fairly limiting when it comes to upgrades (if not completely limiting from what I recall). My wife got stuck with one of those for her office during her grad school years (she was a teaching assistant) and she hated it. She said it crashed all of the time on her as did all of the other TA's minis.

Glad to hear that your model is working just fine but I personally wouldn't get very far with those small specs.

Mac mini:

2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

2GB memory

320GB hard drive1

8x double-layer SuperDrive

NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics

That wouldn't be enough to run the various VST sample packages I have. You could have spent just $200 more and gotten a MacBook which would have had a bit more power and flexibility towards upgrades as well as been mobile.

thanks, but i dont need that haha, ham, im not a sintetizer maker, music programer, dj, sampler, etc, im just a composer, no nedd to much power. My model is working fine, have no probles to date, mmm, but i think that i will take that suggestion, i will buy a macbook pro to.

MacBooks are always better. haha. They have incredible power... I, myself, have a two foot iMac that dominates the room; however, I think I am getting a MacBook as well! lolz.

Hahaha, but you ARE! When you choose to use the computer as a tool for creating, and ultimately playing back your compositions, you are stepping into the roles of a composer-producer that works with synthesizers, samplers and basic audio production. Even if you realize it or not because you're basically doing the same tasks. Are you not using the built in VST instruments in Logic? Are you not using some of the synth sounds? You listed some, so yes you are. You're also working with MIDI which is a large part of music programming and you're probably burning your final mixes out to CD and/or an audio file to share with someone somewhere, right? You're using various plug-ins like reverb, chorus, EQ and others, so are you're acting as a musical producer/studio engineer in this regard. So how are you not "sintetizer maker, music programer, dj, sampler, etc?"

I've only come across this attitude with a few folks on this website, but there seems to some that forget that once you start working with audio you're accepting the responsibility to make it sound good. To ignore this and willingly choose a machine that can handle only a small percentage of samples and tools available on the market is to limit your musical palette (electronically speaking of course). As a composer, I want to be able to work with the widest range of instruments, sounds and textures possible. This way I can keep exploring and come up with new, cool sounds in my work. (At least new and cool to me!) In very much the same vein to ignore or refuse to learn and grow more with your skills as it relates to audio is only limiting your production value which is how your listeners will receive and judge your work (if you're playing them the bounces from these sessions).

Basically what I'm trying to say is: the more you invest in your studio, the more you'll get back from it. (Keep in mind the word invest is meant to imply both money and time spend studying and learning these skills.) To put it quite bluntly, don't use a cop-out "I'm just a composer" because it doesn't work when you're a composer electing to use the electronic medium. But hey... whatever works for you.

no, no, what i try to say is that i dont need all that power, for the things that i do in mi computer thats a lot, i use Logic pro only like sampler, all more (revervb, and all this) i do on peak pro or pure data, and they dot need so much to work; what i tray to say is that my programs and me dont need all that. and the sounds are cool!!! you can listen my music in electronic forum
