Murr's Soundtracks! *Update!: Welcome to Our Shop*

Featured Replies

Hey all! I know it's been a ridiculous amount of time since my last posting (or visit for that matter). What with all the things going on this summer, and art school dominating 110% of my time nine months of the year, it's hard to find a chance to get out here and post. BUT hopefully I'll manage to find some time to do more this year.

In any case, I figured I'd just start a single thread to update as I finish more pieces instead of creating a new thread for every single song. So here it is!

8/19/2009

To start things off, here is my most recent composition. It's a short 1 1/2 minute cue for the ending credits of an adventure movie or something. I can provide a score if anyone is interested (I'd definitely be interested to get feedback on it, seeing as I'm sure it's probably incredibly ugly. :P)

"Ending Credits"

8/23/2009

This is an older song I arranged for piano during this past year. Any Xenogears/Yasunori Mitsuda fans will hopefully recognize it. :)

"Bonds of Sea and Flame"

8/29/2009

This is a theme for a little town shop in an RPG (thus, it's written to loop). It's for solo flute, piano, and string quartet, and based on a work piano I had written earlier this year. Hope you enjoy! Now I have to go do the homework I've been avoiding all day. :(

"Welcome to Our Shop!"

Oh come on now stop with the false modesty, this is great!

It could definitely finish off a Harry Potter Film :-)

I'd say this would even work for opening credits, if the intro had a bit more build-up. I really dig it! My only comment would be that the trumpets/high brass sounded a bit odd... not bad, just odd. Perhaps it's just the samples being used. But overall, a very strong piece!

It's really good! even though your using samples... It sound lovely!!! I can totally see a film with this music for the credits at the end!!!

Lovely piece. Would work for endings as well as openings.

THIS ISSSSSSSSSSSSS F****** AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE MATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

It's really sweepy! I really like it! It's definitely Hollywood worthy :)

lj_Parle: Thanks for the kind words! I hope my modesty isn't too false, but trust me, the score itself is probably far from acceptable for performance by actual human beings. :P

Andrew Wonders: Thanks a lot! I had some trouble getting the brass to mix right with the rest of the orchestra in the recording. I'm not sure if it's because of the different libraries being used or what, but yeah I can see what you mean about it sounding a bit odd. Thanks for commenting though!

Myrtle Esmeralde: Thanks! Glad you liked it! :)

Max Castillo: Thank you very much! :)

GonzaloMartins: THAAANKKS A LOT FOR LISSSSSSSSSTENING!

Kevin Penkin: Thanks, man! I appreciate your saying so! :)

Haha, that's quite a compliment and I sincerely appreciate it. Thanks again!

Go ahead and post the score. It always helps to have other eyes find the misplaced markings.

As has been said, Ending Credits is a wonderful piece and could be used at any point in a movie. It definitely has that Hollywood sound.

The piano piece is much more reflective in nature, but would also work well.

Nicely done

Ron

Ending Credits is simply beautiful man.

Awesome harmonies and melodic ideas, executed brilliantly with the variety and orchestration.

I dream of making such arrangements :)

Good job and I hope to hear more of this from you.

I also liked the piano tune.

Thanks Ron! Glad you enjoyed it. I've got a pdf score here for anyone to take a look at. Unfortunately I can't for the life of me figure out how to get Finale to fit the last staff (the glockenspiel part) on the page. But, if you or anyone else has any suggestions, feel free and thanks!
