The beautiful tritone...with the minor second a close second and the major seventh following...

I can't believe that you would say that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Infidellllll!

For me it all comes down to the environement. What good is a single interval? How can one judge without the before and the after, and the current? Music is not static... :)

I can't believe that you would say that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Infidellllll!

Hehehe, especially when these minor seconds are CLUSTERED together...

Delicious...

And, Nikolas, I expected you to post your old-fashioned opinions again! :)

:w00t:

ROFLMAO!

(The most useful post in history of YC?)

Where's the unison? Psh.

Where's the unison? Psh.

Good point! Nothing beats unison...

I went with the octave - the next best thing, I guess.

I have to say octave. Such a beautiful perfect feeling...ahh....Close second is the major third.

I cant believe how opinionated everybody is on this stuff. Its kinda funny

I agree. The major 10th is a very pleasant interval, especially when played on the piano (for reasons related with harmonics, I think).

That's where it's at

Minor Sixth. Dunno why ... it just sounds really warm and pleasant to me. I love when a simple melody is played in minor sixths.:P

Finally, after looking at this for a while, said minor third. But that is just at the moment and subject to change without notice. I love all of them. Close to the top is also minor sixth, major sixth, and minor seventh, though I have been playing around with the major seventh some, too, and it is interesting.

I enjoy using minor seconds. a lot.

I knew a lot of people were going to say tritone. I can't stand you people. :P

Perfect fifth. It's very regal, noble. It's good with anything, including guitar (fourths also) and parallel fifths take me back half a millenium and I love them. As a bonus, they're naturally almost in tune in equal temperament (just a couple cents difference)!

Major sixths are okay too, for dramatic effect.

I love my octaves.

Nothing beats an Augmented fourth.

I feel sorry for the minor seventh. Nobody likes it.

My favourite is the minor sixth though. It's a very romantic interval.

I'd be willing to bet that the minor seventh was the second or third choice of at least a few people, especially the tritone folks.

I like but true enough it's not my favourite. I always think of West Side Story when I hear it.

Major and minor sixth. Beautiful....

I like the minor seventh a lot, I use it quite often.

Major sixth, of course! :P

it has the most "airy"/ponderous/you get the idea; sound

I just really like it.

augmented 7th and diminished 2nd.

;)
