Symphony No. 5 (Beethoven) Rock

Featured Replies

I just made a rock version of Beethoven's 5th Symphony. What do you think of it? Any suggestions to make it as awesome as possible.

Its still a draft so its a midi file.

Nice first post! I have two suggestions.

1. You can take more time at the beginning before you rush into the theme; adds a little suspense/interest. If you've ever heard Walter Murphy's Fifth of Beethoven (the disco version of Beethoven's 5th), he starts off sounding exactly like Beethoven's 5th. When the disco parts comes in, your mind is blown in the best of ways.

2. You don't have to adhere to the original music so strictly. Spice it up! Add in your own material or maybe even a rock hook/lick. Until you do, I think your piece will just sound like another arrangement of Beethoven's 5th without any of your originality.

Keep it up and post future versions of it!

Thanks for your reply. I didn't really like the Murphy version as I think it was a bit over remixed. I'll try to improvise it a bit. I was thinking of using electro beats during the famous intro part and real drums after that.
