Three Duets for Flute and Piano

Featured Replies

Okay, I wrote these a little while ago, and I just want some comments on them, and a little help with making them a little better, of course I don't really consider myself a true composer, because I'm a High School Student with no idea what he's doing. All help/comments welcome.

Also, these names are far from permanent, and all suggestions are welcome, because I consider myself to be awful when it comes to naming, so named them simply for the sake of being able to post them.

Duet I.MUSDuetII.MUSDuetIII.MUSDuet I.MIDDuetII.MIDDuetIII.MID

I'm sorry you haven't gotten any comments on this until now :( Let me be the first to do so.

Duet 1: very joyful and uplifting, this is good work! You consider yourself a "non-composer", but anyone who can create melodies like this is a perfectly fine composer. Please give yourself due credit :) I think this would benefit from a bridge though, sometime after your transition into the other key: this piece, the way it's set up, feels incomplete without the bridge I think.

Duet 2: this piece feels sentimental, bittersweet, and is again quite well written, I believe! It feels like being dancing next to a warm fire, almost: but that's likely just me!

Duet 3: I have no idea what to think of this piece! Sounds like two birds having a very funny battle on a tree or something: it's very fun sounding, and jarring!

All-in-all, don't be so hard on yourself: these pieces are pretty good, and I had fun listening to them. Thanks for posting them, and keep writing whatever you feel like writing! ;)

Thank you! I've been watching this every day since I posted it, and I've been nervously awaiting the reply!

Duet 1: I agree with your comment on the bridge, I thought about adding something in, but I wasn't entirely sure what, or where, so it's good to have your opinion on that.

Duet 2: That's an interesting idea, but I certainly don't think of that when I hear it! I don't really want to change anything in this one, it's probably my favourite.

Duet 3: I though it had a funny sound too, but that's why I like it.

The only thing I don't like about them, is that I can't play them very well at all, with the exception of 2. I wasn't sure if anyone else would like these because I consider my taste rather strange. Thank you for your comments!
