Legion of Redemption

I loved the imagery you were able to portray through this piece. Very well done! Is there a score?

Heya Chris,

Welcome to YC!

This is a pretty neat track, I really like the choral elements and your usage of interesting orchestral effects. Very sharp. The writing is solid if occasionally a bit thin, and my biggest complaint is with the mix...sounds distant and muddy, and your brass is really dragging the realism down — needs some serious polish on the sequencing end to get it up to part with the rest of your ensemble. Some extra breadth in the instrument placement wouldn't hurt either, and if you fix up the distance issues with reverb and EQ, you should be able to achieve a semblance of depth too — each section in its proper place, with strings up front, woods and brass further back, percussion further, choir way in the back (or wherever you want them). Right now it sounds like they're all coming from about the same spot, and the only reason it isn't more bothersome is because you've reverbed them waaaay back so you can't really notice that there's no depth. :P

Otherwise not much to critique, I enjoyed listening. Keep composing and tell us a bit about what libraries and sequencer you used to produce this — and also: what's this saga all about? Is it a game, film, imagined idea? Tell us the story. :)

Please do your part to comment on the works of others here too, as it will encourage them to keep commenting on yours!

I agree with Marius pretty much. I like the choral work here.

SOme more width, depth and realism and you got a decent piece.

Personally, I don't think the melodics are all that new or enthralling, maybe work on making the theme a bit more memorable would do it?

You have some nice ideas in there but it never really struck me as something I would remember for very long. But you know, creating a good melody is extremely hard and takes years to master properly. So dont give up and keep on creating!
