December 14, 200916 yr I really need to get Ministry of Rock... Lol I played the all guitars on this. Drums are Battery 3 and bass is Spectrasonics Trilogy and keys and stuff is from Sample Tank and Spectrasonics Atmosphere I think :)
December 15, 200916 yr Judging by your name and the song I'm guessing you're a Steve Vai fan. Nice work on the song man. My only complaint was that it was kind of repetitive. Can I ask how long you've been playing guitar?

December 29, 200916 yr You know I expect a lot. Nice bass work, period. Good fills and the like. The guitars are kind of what I expected, but they sound significantly less dated than some of the other stuff you've shown here. Good tone. Oh yeah, and now the 80s hit my face like a brick. The riffs are great as always. But I'm not sure about the synths and stuff... I'd rather that be all guitar noise, if only from an artistic standpoint. Baller, dude.
December 30, 200916 yr One thing to think about, arranging wise, try not to have these homogeneous blocks of sound. For instance, I really like it when the crystally string stuff appears - it might be nice to have something a bit sooner, just to break up the texture of the guitar solo. Even if it's adding something to the riff, or adding an instrument, or taking out the drums for two beats - something to make it feel like it definitely was not cut/pasted anywhere. I dig the vibe of this track. It's somewhat reminiscent of Change of Seasons - especially with the pads you have going on. I dig the vibe of this track, and the flow is mostly pretty good. One thing is we're good with the A B A B format, but hten I'd like to go somewhere other than A (around 3:30). You start going haywire on the guitar which is cool. Maybe consider dropping out all the bottom? All rhythm guitars, all bass - maybe just drums and lead for a while, or drums/lead/pads. My thought is that you can keep the same vibe and the same material, really, but break it up in a manner so it's not predictable, or so a listener thinks that they're hearing something new, and only after several listens do they realize that it's the same thing in a different way (one example of this is 'Forever' by Kanye, Drake, et. al - the chord progression during the verses are all.....i....over and over again, and the chorus progressions are something like i VII VI i - then on the last verse, (Eminems verse) the chord progression is i VII VI i -the same as the chorus - but it feels so fresh and so new. Just an example.) Overall, I dig the track. I think you obviously have a knack for this niche, and my thoughts are my own - take what you like and don't worry about the rest.
