I like this. Very interesting work. I do hear the influence of Glass - but it's not similar enough to be fully inferenced. My only comment is in the sound samples - I would mix them in a little to make it blend better.

because i just heard einstein on the beach a couple days ago. this was after i wrote it. i've been doing weird stuff like this all the time lol.

Anyway, I like the spoken samples more than the instrumental music. Yet both are complementary - the instrumental music sounds like snippets of newscast music. I just think the instrumental music was too bland - why not diced up to a greater degree or mix it up more as you do with the voices?

The voices show a nice initial progression as you layer in the British voice but there is a bit of laziness in the execution. You just allow a few alteration to cycle through and layer with the woman's voice ending . Seems you do not have a strong conception of the time line of this piece - that is how long you want things to go and whether to allow at developments arise naturally thru a generative process or taking an active role and consciously develop this material (eg whether traditional sonata allegro form or motivic cells swapping identities etc).

So overall pretty good but too short and the material is underutilized.

I liked the beginning a lot, but I'm not really sure the vocals and spoken parts work that well together as the piece goes along. Is there an overall theme to the reasoning of the spoken parts. Listen to more Glass, Reich, and especially Jacob TV to hear mastery of this style.

Hey it's REALLY good to see more of this type of music up here. I'm not dissing your writing skills in anyway, they're FINE! hahah! But because those voices are so damn good it feels like you should of just used the voices and mad the voices build together.

How in the world did this get 110 perfect 10 votes? :blink: Not that that's a bad thing, it's just... that strikes me as...odd.

This is interesting, unique work: the voices at the beginning add a bizarre atmosphere to the whole piece, and they really fit. But I'm not really feeling the piano's "playing off" the voices: it sounds sort of random, as opposed to there being an actual point to it's playing.

At the end, the minimalistic use of the instruments is nice though :)
