Who has uploading problems?

Featured Replies

For anyone who has uploading problems in terms of space usage, please report here. Please keep in mind that general users have 100 megs of free space. So if you have not used 100 megs yet, and the system is telling you to purchase more space, let me know. Also, tell me how much space you have used, according to the system. You can find this out by logging into the network, and clicking "my profile".

Hi chopin,

I've had the uploading problem like the one mentioned above...the system says that I've used 4MB.

Hope for a fix soon...I have juicy new compositions to post <_<

Thanks in Advancce!!

I have totally different uploading problems.

For one, when I click "upload music" and the file search thing comes up for me to dig around my computer to find it, it has a drop down box that says "Music Files: .avi .mpg .wmv .mpeg." That's a problem because those are VIDEO formats not AUDIO. So, I could only convert this one piece I had previously uploaded as a .mp3 here before the site got all changed to a .avi using Adobe Media Encoder and converted it to .avi and tried to upload and it said the file size was too large.

The main problem is, why the hell does it ask for video formats and not audio ones? Those formats are so much larger too than other audio formats like .mp3.

I'm sooooooooooo confused. I tried to find a help section or FAQ somewhere on here but you know what, even if there is one, I sure as hell can't find it...

It's possible you uploaded this as a video before we upgraded. This is what you do: Physically delete your piece, and create a brand new music profile. Let me know if this resolves your issue.

No I know it was an .mp3 when I originally uploaded it, but it doesn't matter, I already tried this method of which you speak.

I can't find anywhere how to get to where I can edit the song like I did earlier today, the edit button just disappeared. Even then, when I was there I planned to just delete it but I couldn't find anywhere to choose to delete it. Right now, I can't even figure out how to get back to where I edit it.

EDIT: Never mind, I figured it out.

When I clicked "edit" to edit your music myself, I only found the video extensions. But when I add music in general, I get all the extensions available (video and mp3). Let me know if this is not the case when you upload your piece as a new thread. I am not sure why you only received video extensions, the only thing I could think of is that preexisting music on this site (before March 10) loses the mp3 extension when edited. I will check this out for a possible bug.

Yes this is a bug, I verified. Music uploaded before our second launch loses the mp3 and midi extension when updated. Thank you for pointing this out. I will have this addressed this week.

No problem. Yeah sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner, I just deleted and re-uploaded the piece. There is probably a way you can manually go in and change some stuff.

Anyway, what was funny about it was in the drop down box for file type, it said "Music File" but only listed video extensions. I found that to be the oddest part about it.

Is there like a wait/processing time before it will play? I mean I just re-uploaded it two hours ago and I went to the page that has it, and instead of having the little play button, it has a link that says "play music" and when I click it, it takes me to a "Forbidden" error page.

Please try reuploading the midi. If this fails, you may link your file in your post to your music, until we try and figure this out for you.

You know my story. Says I used 9 MB but I have 0 MB storage space allowed. This happened back in January. Still hoping this can be fixed

Are you sure you are still having the same problems now? The developers said they had fixed this on Friday. Please double check.

It wasn't a MIDI, it was a .mp3 - I don't have a MIDI because I used Finale 2010 to compose it and render it so... what are my other options?

I have noticed that a recent piece I've uploaded has never recorded a playing.

I even listened to it twice my self and left it for 24 hours to be sure.

Just want to let you know that this latest installment of the site does not allow me to upload files into the composition forums while using Safari 4.0.4 which I think is the latest..Seems fine on Firefox though.
