Hi.

I'm Mindy, and I'm not really a composer. I mean, I like to write songs/poetry/lyrics 'n stuff and listen to music, but I haven't really tried to create anything with a program. Nonetheless, here I am. Mwa. :3

Hello. I'm Cameron, and I mostly play Trumpet, French Horn and Drums. I specialize in writing trumpet duets and mostly use Finale Notebook. Glad to be here.

Hi, everyone,I'm asher and I'm new to this board and have been very very impressed with it. You guys are all amazing and I figured you all new something more than I do now so I'll get and trully get into composing. I just started very recently with composing but don't know very much. I will take what I can in. I have been playing the piano since I was...10 or 9, so 6 years, around there. I love Chopin, Beethoven, Liszt, mozart, and William joseph. and yeah... I guess this is enough to give away about me for now. Hope to see more of you.

btw, if this isn't the right forum for this topic please move it.

Hi! I'm Bart, 20 yo, from Austria, play Guitar and Piano. I'm just getting started in Composing, so there is a lot of work to do! See you around - B.

Hi! I'm Rey and I'm 19. I'm still self-teaching guitar and everything was going well until my aunt retrieved her guitar. I can also play the piano. I worked my way into proper playing using only the ability to read notes. So, as you can see, practically NOBODY taught me to play these instruments but myself. So you can only imagine how crude and unrefined my techniques are, but I'm not swayed. I've made a few compositions myself, just to get a feel at it and, so far, it's somewhat gratifying. :D

In case no one understood, J.Br. is how Johannes Brahms used to sign his letters. Although I have nowhere near the intelligence or talent he had, I have adopted his signature because he is my idol.

In case none of you have seen me yet, I'll mostly be in the music reviewing forum. I'll try and be honest, but I have recently been informed that being too negative is unappropriate, so I'll try not to bite too hard. I'm thinking about posting music, although I'm not quite sure how as I don't have the programs required, and I don't have a scanner to scan my music (I write by hand).

Anyhow, if you want to say hi please do. And if you really want me to review your music (and I'm sure most of you won't want me to), just say so. I'll gladly do it (I can only listen to mp3s and some finale and I can read PDF files).

Thanks

And hopefully, I'll be seeing you around!

Being negative isn't necessarily inappropriate... it's being negative without giving the reasons why. Please be more specific when you criticize.

Greetings. :) I'm Miguel, I'm 16, I play the piano and write theater plays in which I usually do music-action coordination, sort of like musicals. I haven't had any composing lessons yet, but I've already created some pieces of my own, for piano, harpsichord and orchestra. I like Berlioz, Beethoven, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Rossini, Chopin, Offenbach, Elfman and Kirkhope, among many others. Glad to be here. ;)

Yes, welcome. I hope you stick around and become a regular. (we have too few of those)

Hey all. I'm Sapsuker. I'm 14 years old, and I've been playing the trumpet for three and a half years, the piano for around seven to eight years (though I haven't taken a lesson in four years), the baritone (not very often), and a little bit of saxophone (though I am pretty bad at it. I only know the basics).

I've always wanted to compose songs since 6th grade, when I started the trumpet. I was able to in 6th and 7th grade at school with Finale Notepad, but what I really wanted to do was make actual (since the version I got was a demo) songs and save them onto the computer as listenable midi files. Then I found Anvil Studio. I found it was really hard to get used to at first, so I kind of stayed away. Just last summer, I started composing and making actual songs. Now, I'm getting used to Anvil Studio's features, and hopefully making better songs. I'm hoping this forum will help me with that.

Heh, sorry about that long paragraph about my composing. I'm sure it's all boring useless stuff you don't need to know. Just wanted to say hi. =)

Oh, and if anyone is wondering where I got my name, it's the name of a specie of North-American Woodpecker. How I came to purposely misspell it (exclude the 'c') is another story.

I am aware this isn't strictly classical music, in the sense that this is part of a bigger project including other styles of music. But the part i am working on is for a symphonic orchestra basically and is very much "classical" in the contents.

Originality can be a VERY good thing, you don't have to be strictly Classical. I know I'm not.

HAY ME NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I am Connor Lidell. I play the piano, keyboard, trumpet, saxophone.

I am 13 years old

I write music (DUH DUH DUH)

Hey young one go home!!!

Ssssh. :(

Welcome, Connor.

Hi people. I'm a new here. I'm an Engineering Student (Final Year) who loves to compose music during my free time. My composition style is game, anime and movie style. I'm mostly concentrating on game and anime style music. I know I'm not as experienced as you all but I'm willing to learn my mistake. I only have 3 years of music foundation in Organ (two layered-keyboard) and I quit ever since as I dislike my music teacher who teach music in a forceful way. Until today, I'm a self study musician. Learn by listening to variety music by different composers. Among my favourite composers are John Williams, Nobuo Uematsu, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Yuki Kaijura & Yasunori Mitsuda. That's all about me and please feel free to comment on my music which I gonna post on the forum. Cheers mate! ^^

Wow, harsh...

I'm Ian McDougal, and I'm 15.

I sing and play the piano.

I compose mostly modern classical music, especially music for the piano.

I wish I could date The Ugly One.

Hey you guys! My name is Keith, and I'm sixteen and a half years old.

I'm probably a bit noobish to be here, but oh well.

I write simple songs on a MIDI program called Overture.

I know the basics of theory, and a little bit more. I only learned from books and one of my friends. I'm taking a theory class next year though (I'm a sophomore).

I play the electric bass guitar and piano.

I love classical music with a passion. I listen to mainly symphonies(Beethoven) and solo piano pieces (Liszt, Chopin, Beethoven). Piano concertos by Mozart also rub me the right way.

I also love Jazz. Mainly "free" jazz, or "avant-garde" (Coltrane, Mingus, Dolphy, etc.)

anddd thats about it. Glad to join here!

I didn't realize this thread was here! Silly me. My name is Ric, but Stubbazubba just has such a flow to it, don't you think? I play trumpet and sing, and I'm just discovering a bit of a passion for composing, although I'm about as unrefined in the craft as you can possibly be. I like a lot of music, although my favorites tend to be jazz, movie soundtracks (some favorites; Hans Zimmer, John Williams' more recent stuff, recently Patrick Doyle), and showtunes. I'm a junior in high school, and I am beginning to seriously consider going into music for college.

Hey I am Shawn.

I have just composing recently, but have played clarinet for 8 years, sax for 3 1/2 and some piano, afew notes on oboe and trumpet.

Listen to my piece and tell me what you think!

Amazing.MUS

Hey Everybody!

I'm a new guy!

My name is Jonathon McKenna.

I've composed a lot for piano (and written down less heh heh... they are memorized). I just recently started getting the urge to do stuff for more than just the piano and am trying to use computer programs to do my composing. I want to go to college for composing. I love listening to others compositions and I like to let others listen to mine. I posted something of mine here already but it was something I made playing around so I have yet to post anything that I consider good for me. Thanks for composing guys becuase I love listening to everyones music!

I composed my first thing in 6th grad and then didn't compose anything else until about halfway through 8th grade. I'm in 11th grade now and have 11 solid piano compositions that I like to play for everyone willing to listen. I'm the type who will probably compose for orchestra supplemented by other instruments. I could really careless what style my music is considered because I just try to make it sound awsome! You all can compare me to whoever or whatever once I submit something good.

Hello and welcome, Jonathon,

I moved your introduction here because it is our dedicated "introduce yourself" topic. :)

Have fun!

Hola!

I'm Louise, im 14 and i love music. I'm a big bando I go to Scripps Ranch High School and our band's name is the Rising Stars. I'm in Marching band where I play trumpet, and for concert and full orchestra i play oboe my true passion. I have yet to write a real piece of music but i would really like to. I kind of have like no idea where to start, so I joined hoping i could gain some insight on how the art of writing music is done.

Welcome Louise :( Nice to see another girl here! I am pretty new to composing as well, I learned a lot from this site, so if you are looking to learn, you are in the right place!

Hi!

I'm Rami, I'm 16.

I've been playing the piano since I was 10 and the alto recorder too for 3 years now. I started composing about 2 years ago, but I am very slow, 'coz I never attended any composing lessons or stuff like that... I just compose for fun.

My favourite composers are Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Debussy :)
