He is the chosen one! *gasp*

*look at his hand, it is the sign that Link has in the Zelda games, and he also carries 100 rupies*

...ok this might have gone to far :pinch:

Welcome back Lee. I've missed your music more than I miss being in love. Okay that made no sense, but still, you're the only classicalish composer I have ever enjoyed.

DOFTS = Bitter Duck.

Welcome back Lee! :D

Thanks guys! You're the best.

Jazz, females, woop! :)

Hi, my name is Bryce and I've been composing since I was about 14. I play the trumpet in my high school band, and I also play guitar and a little piano. A lot of my influence comes from modern wind ensemble composers, specifically Steven Reineke and David Holsinger. So far, I've written: "The Little Boy Lost in the Snow," a choral piece that was performed in my high school's play in 2005; "Kinetia," an orchestral piece; a single movement of a string quartet; and my latest work, "Excelsior," for wind ensemble. "Excelsior" will be performed on May 4, 2008 by my high school band in the spring concert.:D Hopefully I can soon post scores and mp3's of these works!

Welcome Shostakovsky!

looking forward to hearing some live performances:)

Shostakovsky, welcome! This board is severely lacking in choral/vocal works, so please, upload some if you got 'em!

Hello!

I am Alexander, 21 years old. I am from Greece and I am interested in music composition. I play the piano and the recorder and currently I am preparing for the entrance examinations at the Hochschule fur Music und Theater of Leipzig. I hope I'll pass the examinations as I really want to study music composition! I am mostly self-taught in composition even though I hold a diploma in Harmony and Counterpoint. Recently however, I started taking lessons especially for composition and I find I have improved quite a lot. Well despite my lack of free time, I look forward to meeting you and hearing your works. I think I'll start by sharing with you a work of mine!

Thanks for reading!

Alexandros

Hey I'm Cecilia. My main instrument is the tenor sax, but I also play piano and violin.

I compose mainly for piano and vocals, though I'm trying to work on expanding to write for different instrumentations.

I'm hoping to learn a bit more about the logic behind composition, because right now I'm depending purely on creativity, and I hear that there are some other (really) important aspects of writing music.

I look forward to exploring this site.

hmm..about your name...well i would if i could :whistling:

Hey nick maybe you can help me out. My name is Loreal and I'm 14. I'm in 8th grade at the moument and want to be a composer when in the future. My goal is to transpose regular songs you hear from day to day and write them so that bands can play them. Also in doing this I hope to change people's mind about what they may think about once they hear the words "School Band." What I want is to when people hear those words I want people to think of yeah a school band but a school band that they are interested in listening to. For example most people think of boring old symphonic music ir just music noone really cares to hear; I want to change that by opening people's eyes. I have been in band since 6th grade playing the clairinet. Just last year I picked up the BASS clairinet as well. The thing is I don't know exactly how to go about becoming a composer and really have noone to help me out. Basically I have to find out and do research on my own. If you can fill me in it would be great. I mean I know you have to get education for it. As a matter a fact I have already applied for Osceola County School For The Arts; Maybe you've heard of that school? well they have a very good music program and actually have a specific class for composing. As for college....that's what I'm not sure about. Even so it's AFTER collge is my question. I know you have to get a job in the mean time of composing. Like how do you go about getting your work published? how do you get it well known? things like that I want to know so maybe you can help me. For anyone else that sees this and can also help me please reply to this.

Thanx. :)

-Lilpunkchick136

thanx. Well do you know anyone that can though?

Hey, my name is Arne and I'm 22, I had some musical training when I was little (piano). I quit that to persue a professional soccer career (:p), in short, I suffered an injury and had to retire from the game. So I picked up the guitar to play rediculously heavy metal. Around the same time I started messing around with synths and got into orchestrating. These days I study jazzguitar in a place approprietly named Jazz Studio and my spare time goes out to making epic movie/computergame music :p.

oh and I'm capable of reading notes on a comical level ^^

My name is Tram and I come from Vietnam :D just surfing through the net and found you all here. That's totally a delightfulness to me. I'm 15, and so, still high school student, but I love composing. Though my works can be unprofessional, or so-so :P, hope you all can enjoy them, and help me to improve my music. Thank you all a lots.

P.S: call me CR, that's my "stage name" :P

good evenin'! I'm sort-of new here, that is, i've been a member for a while and looked around the forums, but never really posted anything :) so heya, i'm stu, i play keyboards, guitar, drums and trumpet :) i've been composing for a long time, dunno how long to be honest, wouldn't really say i have a particular style but i love orchestral and minimalist music, and i adore dischord and counterpoint if they are used well :) i'm 15 by the way, and i like making new friends regardless of anything, so just talk to me i dont bite...hard :-D

welcome new people :)

just so you know, i am the leader of YC, and yes, you may call me master

now BOW!
