This was composed for a fantasy themed game. It is my first attempt at orchestral composition. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! I am aware of a number of technical issues such as funky reverb and some weird levels, but feel free to comment on anything you hear, I have thick skin. Thanks! Can't seem to upload so here is a link: Thanks to "the j" for letting me know...http://www.box.net/shared/h22xr5c01s

nice percussions , i like how the cello plays in the background of the snare+ bass drum line . at 2:27 i feel like there's something wrong , not necessary wrong , it could work but i think its a bit of distraction . nice second theme at 2:53 , i like what the cello +DB section is doing . did you do it for a film ? because it feels like its syncing to something ( a lot of transitions) good job with the choirs , it gives it the heavy heroic theme . the ending is great , i love the final theme , nice orchestration of it , is that an acoustic guitar?? it fits in , i specially like the melody at 4:31 but why does it end it doesnt come back! i think you should re-introduce that melody and make it as a great finale with the use of most of the orchestra section , the way you hear the great composers do it ! ( check out alan selvestri) he does that a lot .

Overall great job , and welcome to YC please take time to review other composer's work

It's your first orchestral composition... that's pretty darn good!!

Overall, it's harmonically correct and fairly well orchestrated. However, I'm not sure whether this was done in notation, but it sounds really synthy at several points throughout. The beautiful melody at 0:55 reminds me of something from Peter Rabbit. I really like how you build up tension after with the percussion. However, I think you dragged on that section for far too long - it seems like it never reached a climax which is a bit disappointing. It just goes from one climax after another. It felt really exciting, especially with full stereo effect on full blast :) All in all, it seems like it's been synced to something because TBH, this doesn't really sound like a full piece, it seems like it's a selection of pieces mashed together.

Despite this, there are some instances of really excellent orchestration, like at 4:30 with the excellent rustic violin+guitar - brilliantly done, I just wish that you could have had more of it. The percussion is also effective throughout, wonderfully done.

You clearly have talent, we just need to see a proper piece :)
