Tuscany

Featured Replies

This is a light, lyrical orchestral piece I did in response to, "make something happy!" Most of what I churn out is melancholy, but hopefully this comes across as more upbeat... It's just a theme repeated with variations in the instrumentation. I got the title from my impression of a morning bike-ride through a European countryside. As usual, made using Logic 8 and no promises as to the usefulness of the score.

I really enjoy the theme here. I know that it's just a theme represented numerous times, but it could get a little repetitive to some people. I usually, however, enjoy repetitiveness, as long as what's being played is good, and this definitely is to me. Also, I think visually that it represents a countryside bike ride well. I enjoyed listening.

I like how you used the same melody but at the same time kept the song interesting, great job! One timing issue I didn't like was in the main melody, you have quarter, quarter, quarter, quarter, dotted half and then a quarter tied to a whole note (ex: bar 17 to 19) I would take out the tie because otherwise I don't like the awkwardness of that statement. Great writing!
