Violin Duet

Featured Replies

A Violin duet based on a cypriot folk tune and inspired by Berio violin duets. It is a simple short piece which was meant to be fun to play but I am not sure if it turned out to be like that.

I also uploaded the score, if you are interested.

Anti-dissonance guys, this is not for you!

Here you can listen the

Hi. i just started get acquainted with dissonant music. Im not a string player, so I cannot guess how fun it is to play, but it definitely fun to listen. I like it.

haha. I liked it! Love the folky 5/8.

It looks a bit too difficult to play just for fun. To me it sounds like a serious good work. So maybe not what you intended, but a compliment though ;)

I love this. It has a very Bartokian air to it that is quite nice. I'll take a listen at the basis for this, thanks for sharing it!

I like this a lot; it's definitely workable on the fingerboard.

I have a question though, what's up with all the single eighth notes in the first violin part that are barred to rests?

Thank you all for listening. I am glad you enjoyed it. Bartok is one of my favorite composers, I am eventually getting into cypriot folk music.

Makes it easier to read

good stuff! I look forward to hearing more from you.

Fascinating! This isn't just dissonance for the sake of dissonance, my ear can tell

--I like the sharpness of the piece, it's really exciting and energetic. And your rhythmic motif, along with variations, is very good! I was captivated from start to finish :)

--Aaaaand that's really all I can say :dunno: This is one of those pieces that really can't be explained so much with words: it's an "experience" piece ;)

I enjoyed this enough to give it a 9/10, great job Nightfly!

(Out of curiosity, what does the name "AL Yemeni Mor Yemeni" mean?)
