Adagio lamentoso

This work is an Adagio for string orchestra dedicated to Gustav Mahler. This was the way I found to express my passion for Mahler's music. In this work I tried to create the same mood/emotions of the slow movements of Mahlers symphonies.

Awesome work! I really don't have much to say, except that this is very beautiful and well-scored. I hope you get the chance to hear it live at some point, just make sure to clean up the few collisions in the score first.

Great work! Seconded on score collisions, but you have achieved a great sense of style and a wonderful pacing through this piece. Scoring for the harp is fantastic, and you've got some nice balance in the string parts.

Man. Wish I had this sense and inspiration. Absolutely lovely piece. It certainly reminds Mahler... If had written something like this it would be dedicated to my girlfriend, ha ha ha !!!. Excellent Work. Absolutely wonderful. Take the advices of the collisions in count. 10/10. I'm surprised how few comments and views it has had.

I think he means that in some parts of the score there are some notes that are too close to one another, or some accidentals, like sharps or flats are too close to the note before or after it, so it is not instantly clear, or maybe the space between one stave to another, so those may collide by overlapping and thus harm a little bit the readability of the score.

But this is yes a thing to be pointed out to learn how to make the score more clean, but as long as it is just for your own use and to share informally between us to both enjoy the music and read it alongside, I think the score is written good, but if you have to send this one score to some publisher, then, maybe, it would be easy for you to get it accepted quickly to polish it a bit, so when they print it they won't have to work twice... That's it, I think.

Very nice work. I believe you used each of the instruments to full potential and you varied texture and thematic material often enough to create a very interesting journey through your music. The vst's certainly helped too.

Wow, this was seriously good. As an avid Mahler fan, I can say that a lot of this sounded very Mahlerian, which is fantastic. But what's really good is that this piece still sounds distinct and personal to you, not just an attempt to copy Mahler, which I really like. Amazing job :)

Maybe I do note like Mahler enough to appreciate this. But Ms 11-13 sounded like a piano arpeggio, but I am not sure whether this works for strings...

If I were a real jerk, I might quibble with you with the odd scoring issue, or an incorrect enharmonic or two; but in the presence of such inspired and absolute beauty, what could possibly be the point? I can honestly say I've never heard anything quite its like on these boards in the many years I've been here. Congratulations on a piece of surpassing loveliness and craftsmanship.
