Just a personal game song I've worked on on my spare time. haven't thought of a title for it yet. For a village with a bit of sadness.don't be shy, tell me what you think.

untitled Guitar and Cello piece

Hey Redajin,

I can imagine the village, you hit the mood nicely. I also like your cello tune.

However, why did you make it so long? I guess you did intend the piece to be repetitive which is OK in general, but - no offence - I really got quite bored after 2 min or so...

If you write a 4 min piece, there really needs to be some variety imo. You could make the guitar play the melody, for instance, or change the guitar pattern in some places.

For the village mood, I would also maybe use some percussion, maybe a tambourine.

But it's reallly not bad, just keep going ;)

You have a nice theme going on here. It is very simplistic, and easy to use as background music for a nice simple game. As far as the music goes by itself, i think it could really benefit from some more instrument variation. Maybe had some other instruments and expand the melody a bit, so all the parts don't sound so similar.

Nice work pal :)

i agree with all in here, you got the vibe pretty good, but you need to explore your theme abit more to see where it develops or where it can be varied more and more, to give details for the listener, hence to be able to change the guitar part when needed. the point of exploring themes is not to develop or variate them necessarily, but to be able to to use it only when its requiered and not to be closed in patterns that are comfortable techniquely.

Hey y'all thanks for the comments.! :)

in response to it being to long: the song is actually repeating itself once over, so it's really half that long. I was testing to see how well the beginning and end points seam up as an endless loop and I forgot to take away the repeat signs before I rendered it. sorry bout that. :(

I tried to keep it simple seeing that it is generally background music so a player wouldn't generally be listening to much into it, but now that I think of it it could use a little more variation.

I like to make different variations of my music so I'll play around with it some more.

Thanks for the feedback! :)
