Wow! This is some serious composing. Well Done! It really sounds like the kind of music that you would hear in a Pirates of The Caribbean movie. The harmonics were well done and loved the choral part. I don't really have any criticism for this. 9/10

How did you get it to sound like that? Are you using Garritan Sounds?

Thank you for your comments. Yes i'm using EWQL sounds (Complete Composers Collection) ;o) Phil

Great! amazing piece of work, Love the way you use the brass and good use of percussion and rhythm, it feel just like you're on a sailing boat, out for danger.Good job.

The writing is nice, though a tad repetitive. I would say expand a bit more on your basic idea, which is quite good, and work on your sequencing and mixing. The sequencing could be much improved if you're going to strive for realism.

Thanks for your comments, you make me want to rework this piece ;o)

Man that's brilliant - they should definitly get you "on board" for POTC 4!!!

Cool track, PhRey! Welcome to YC!

The buildup is a bit long. I think most tracks would bring in the rest of the orchestra by 0:08, or 0:16, or 0:27.

Things get a little muddied down around 0:40. The strings are doing something cool in the right, but I can't hear them so well. The strings sound really buried under the choir as well.

I like the dissonant notes around 1:50. My one issue is that you have them building up from 1:58-2:08 but it doesn't actually sound like the sounds getting bigger. Since nothing's changing, the brass start to sound repetitive.

I wished the section from 1:32-1:39 lasted longer. It was a nice place to pause where we could rest our ears.

The ending feels pretty repetitive.

Otherwise it's a solid track. Andy's right that you should work on your sequencing for extra realism.

Peace on Earth,

-John
