June 28, 201016 yr I was going to upload my first bona fide composition, but it seems that feature is currently down on this site. I say I have "writer's block" but I started writing this thing today, so it's not like I've been sitting on it for days. I'm not sure what direction to take the next section. I want to write a contrasting section next, but I'm not sure what kind of contrast is fitting for what I've set up so far. And it doesn't help that I'm not a piano player. Thanks! June 28, 201016 yr Okay so in the beginning I was a bit disappointed because you said it was influenced by Ticheli , and I was expecting a concert band score and my mind went like "yes, time to slaughter this piece up." Just kidding. ;D but then I saw piano and was like crap, I know nothing about that clunk of keys. But then I pressed play and was no longer disappointed! I can hear some Ticheli in there, and it's not bad at all! I love how the syncopation adds to the piece! It's amazing how much a few accents can change a measure! I enjoyed thoroughly! But it's easier to read in 4/4 with constant syncopation than having to keep track of the places where the macrobeats shift over and over. Thanks! I know what you mean, I'm not a piano player either. ;) Trumpet. Still stuck on how to make a contrasting section for this guy, though.

However, some find use in melody changing. New keys, inversions, stuff like that. Stuff i need to start trying. haha.

November 8, 201015 yr Author Aaaaand it's done! Not finalized (LH v. RH, a couple questionable range and crossover issues, a few transitions that need to be polished, collision fixing, a few areas whose textures I'm not quite sold on, dynamics, rendering has TONS of garbage toward the end, etc), but there's a start and an end. ^_^ Completed final draft forthcoming. edit: here's the upload. December 13, 201015 yr Hey mate, really enjoyed this piece. Liked the dynamics and how the themes meshed well. I pictured Elton John jamming this out a few times especially towards the end. Good stuff :D
