The space in the time

Featured Replies

Finally!!! I could write a lyric and test the Vocaloid, I'm interested on what do you think about the mix of the voice within the rest of sounds, also the timbre (but that's the best I could do with Vocaloid), the lyric ... well, in lyrics I'm like a blind man trying to fly a plane, or a deaf guy trying to open a safe by ear....

About the music, is virtual synths, + virtual orchestra + virtual singer (but the composer is very real)

Lyric:

Verse 1:

I have nothing else that I could ask

to the feeling in my memory

but the wish to be able to

modify the word that it holds

Verse 2:

the recalling of those memories

is the fighting of an empty war

is the first of none and the last

in the large command that I own

Chorus:

Life in the motion

color dimension

this is the space on the time.

Verse 3:

Brightness and intensity

are the spirits in this waiting game

'cos the universe holds it all

and the time is there on their minds

Chorus:

Life in the motion

color dimension

this is the space on the time.

(on the time, on the time)

Life in the motion

color dimension

this is the space on the time.

Uh .....

Wow, that vocaloid sounds amazing, and you really flatter it with a good melody.

Lovely sweet harmonies and progressions. Simple but very sweet. It could do a little bit on the arranging side though. The drums need a bit more variety in my opinion, also the sound patch is not very good and not so much supportive of the expressive string lines. I have not experience in writing lyrics at all so I don't know what to say or suggest you there. I had some tries myself and found that it is extremely difficult. The bass line is really good and no need for any adjustments. My real concerns are the drums, and perhaps a little more diversity in the flow which could help being a bit static- some very short pauses in drums? Also some real electric guitars will elevate it's qualities even further.

About the vocal line, I think it is a good way of creating demos but I personally would not use it to produce final results.

I loved the general atmosphere of this track. It's silky smooth, gentle and expressive. Has a lot of potential and above all, has a character.

last life, thanks,

Inal, I thought I could do miracles with this Vocaloid but I agree, this can not be used as final version (like making an album with this "singer") but I suppose this is already a miracle to be a software...

I did think in the guitars, I tried but didn't work. About the drums, I've been having problems with these beats, I find it difficult to create the "modern" beats like the one in "

" but all I find are a lot of cheapy VSTs with old sounds like the 909, I've heard hundreds of kicks and claps and they all sound old, weak, Do you know of a good VST beat machine that sounds like the beat in that song I link ? (it starts at ~0:47)

I'll try different patterns of beats but the difference are in the latin percussions, claves, bongos, congas etc.

Also make louder the Violins II, Violas, Cellos Basses, the Violins I are too lonely I think..

I'll post the score so you may see what is what, and what to change.

Thanks for listening.

I used Battery, Addictive Drums and BFD2 on my album, and some of the tracks has 909 samples (which are not that bad). However it's all with the samples that you use that matters. To find a decent drum kit might be a painstakingly hard task. You should keep trying. Eventually you will find the sound that you are after.

Yes, to get the right percussion VST seems to be a difficult task...

Ok, I updated the final render and a score of it.
