First solo piano piece. Critique is very welcome.

Amiable Greeting

Well, there's a pleasant vibe here, and the flow is nice :)

I see that you're using a repeat at measures 9-19. This is, of course, not necessarily a bad thing, but since your piece starts off in a very simple way, this leaves the room for you to repeat your main theme using octaves (also called "1sts", or perfect unisons. This would be a D and a D, one on top and one below. You probably already know this though).

It's a good thing that you're seeking to establish a main theme in the listener's mind, so that the piece isn't heard, and then simply forgotten. And you don't really need to change a whole lot on a return to a good theme. But when it seems appropriate for the piece, feel free to add things -- in this case, you don't start off with octaves, so feel free to add them in on your return

Thank you for sharing your piece with us (^.^)

I see, thank you for all of your input, I'll keep this in mind.

Very nice job for a first piano piece! My first comment would be to create a stronger ending- the one you have seems a little abrupt for my taste. One idea would be to ritard. your ending; this way you wouldn't have to change your notes at all. Add some dynamic contrasts to your piece- it is very much the same throughout. Cresc/DeCresc would be lovely! The notes in measure 18 and 27-end didn't sit well with me; did you want them to be dissonant? Overall, pretty nice job!

I'll do more with dynamics in the future. About the measures at the end... I'm not sure. Truth be told, I don't have much theory under my belt so I don't know all the formulas and rules as to what kind of notes create a more dissonant sound. This makes trying to compose in a certain mood difficult for me. I'm okay with the notes as they are, but I'm sure I could make it better. Thank you for the advice~ <3
