August 18, 201015 yr This piece represents a change in direction of my composing style. It has a latin beat to it and a spanish style. It is intended to be played quite fast and with vigour. (also quite a good exercise for dexterity in my opinion hence the name). The sheet music may intimidate some, but it is definitely playable. Please enjoy =D DEXTERITY
August 18, 201015 yr This should be played on a digital piano linked to your console, as one of the pro levels of Piano Hero. Maybe you could sell it to Activision?
August 22, 201015 yr Author haha now thats an interesting idea, piano hero is really game that is overdue ae haha. It would be almost impossible to play though for those that can't play the piano... thanks so much for the feedback =D yifei
August 22, 201015 yr Good job! Nice piece! I really didn't except to hear the latin beat when I started listening, but it was a pleasant surprise. I don't think the sheet music is that intimidating. It is improperly notated. The syncopation should be notated so that the pulse is always visable. If a note is held over a beat (as many of your notes are) it should be tied over that beat. This is easy for the player to read. You'd be suprised how difficult it is for players to read, even relatively simple rhythms like this, if they aren't properly notated. As for the music: I feel like this piece could've gotten way more wild. With the "latin" and "spanish" style, one of the common elements is the idea of passion, but this feels restrained. Additionally if you vary the material each time it repeats, rather than just repeating it, it will be more interesting for the ears. Again, good job! Keep writing!
August 26, 201015 yr Author cheers ok il pay more attention to the notation in the future thx for the reminder I always did hav trouble with reading rhythm haha~ With more wild do u mean: more layers of instruments or more variety? I tried to add variety to the second time through by using semiquavers as opposed to dotted quavers, however i guess i could have introduced some new sections completely... Thanks for the comment yifei
August 26, 201015 yr By more wild, I mean more extreme climaxes, more out-of-control, and more variety--yeah. I don't think more layers would make it more wild. For variations, think of all the different ways you can transform something and still have it be related to the original material--and you can use any of them.
August 30, 201015 yr Author ok cheers last life il work on it for my future pieces I tried more layers while i was editing the sound file, but it ended up sounding messy and unlike a "piano" piece which i originally intended it to be, where the beat is only to add to the mood. So i chose the version of the song with less layers Il try for more variation and crazy stuff in future pieces, ive already got some crazy ideas up my sleeve haha thx again yifei
September 20, 201015 yr Author this is a performed version of the song on the yamaha DGX630, cheers yifei
September 20, 201015 yr Sounds great! I like the lively and fun feel of it. However, NOTATION NOTATION NOTATION NOTATION NOTATION. It would take a performer of this thirteen times as long to learn it because of the way of you notated it. I don't want that to sound harsh. I like the piece a lot. :D
September 20, 201015 yr Author lol cheers i will work on better notation in the future, thnx for the advice man XD yifei
