Dark forces rise again

Hey Everyone,

Here is my latest piece. I got inspired by some samples from stormdrum, and I just hád to use some nice effects and FX from EWQL SO. Some nice french horn and trombone bends and some scratchy contrabass is the result :P. However, in the middle there is just a standard orchestra, and at the end it ends with some stormdrum samples again.

I wanted to make this extra reverb, but I think I kind of overdid it, though I am curious about what you think.

This time I had some troubles using Reaper, I wasn't always glad with what I changed. I think I humanized a little too much, and I think that limiter really extracts the power from the middle part.

If you have any advice or comments, please don't refrain from posting.

This is pretty sweet. What program did you use for this? It's great. Love the theme at like 1:02, its good stuff.

Thanks :) I used sibelius for the notation, and then Reaper for the production, and EWQL play for the sounds :) What do you think about the reverb?

I just got stormdrum 2 about two weeks ago and it's maddening how amazing it is aint it? just amazing. I'm glad I have the big tom toms from "Transformers", "Dark Knight" and so forth but for me it's the tiny little stuff that makes it special like the waterphone, the bowed timps, and the little brush drums. amazing library. just amazing.

i would seriously recommend lowering the reverb level its insanely reduces the impact of your track, play with it until you find the correct sound you were looking for as an orchestra, because this could go pretty awesome as an epic theme, don't let the mix ruin it.

I agree with the others that the reverb could be reduced. I really wish you'd extended the idea at 0:53 with that trumpet - I think you could (and perhaps I hesitate to say should) have had a excellent solo going there. I love the percussion at 0:28 - cliche, but who cares?? Not much else to say, it's sketchy, but excellent production-wise, and I hope to see more of you in the future - your mixing is really getting up closer to perfection with every single composition.

this is awesome! hehe , the quality is one of the great but there's too much reverb going on . there are some parts that i feel you are inspired by hans zimmer . as for the composition its very nice and i loved the heart beats , good job
