Sleeping in a Crystal Christmas Day

Featured Replies

I've composed this because I have recently heard too many christmas carols from my mother and brother.

It was composed for a wierd trio, because this are the instruments I found in my house.

Besides, could someone, please, help me to compose some lyrics for the Flute part. I have and idea, but it doesn't sound very good (we're out of season).

Polite commentaries will be accepted

I think the chime instrument is a little flat, maybe a quarter note or so.

I like the progression with the piano and such, although maybe you should vary the C E G E C notes (or whatever key the song is in) to create some more interesting chords.

I like the small intensity peak about 2 minutes. However, the pause at about 2:40 is a little awkward-sounding; perhaps sustain and soften the flute to keep the song moving forward.

The song is well-named, though. Perhaps a tad lengthy, but I wouldn't really suggest shortening it any at this point.

Recent news: my brother is going to post the latest version of this in two weeks or so.

In December (it's a Christmas Carol) I'm going to add the Lyrics, so the piece will be complete.

Hope you all try to play this piece.

The 1st mov. is coming next week!

My brother called last night. According to him, this is the 2nd mov. "Adagio".

Great pieces you all have been composing. Good job!

And here we have the partiture!

In this partiture, you'll find "Ariel D. Moya Sequeira" as the composer.

Never mind that: my brother changed his name, as I did. We still use our old names for legal purposes (that includes for-printing partitures)

An update to this project: Sleeping on a Crystal Christmas Night on G MAJOR! Not in E flat!

This is just a little change because the "I mov. - Allegro cantabile" couldn't fit for the Lyra and Flute in E flat. So, here are the modifications about this op.2, if I remember well.

I need to fix some things about these, but I want to know how am I doing.

Enjoy!

PD.: I recommend to hear this on December 24th. It's all about the ambience.
