Central justification of everything = fail.

Please fix. Looks terrible almost everywhere. There are a couple spots it looks okay, and that's probably why Mike did it. But the blanket formatting isn't working. All you're doing is inviting a new slew of projects to work on, fixing the changes you DIDN'T intend to make when you went ahead and centrally justified everything.

No, I'm talking about every single item of text on this website.

Including, but not limited to, posts, signatures, profile blurbs next to posts, the user list, # users reading this topic.

Dude, what are you talking about?

  • posts, Not centred.
  • signatures, Not centred
  • the user list, Not centred
  • # users reading this topic. Not centred

Can you clarify?. ....perhaps post a screenshot?

  • Glad to see that fixed the problem. Also, to make things easier, the avatar and profile picture are the same. Thus, your profile picture IS your avatar, and vice versa.

  • Hi chopin. I have a mere esthetical issue. I don't mind the new additions on the site, I do mind however where they are placed. The two huge new buttons, next to the previously modest RSSfeed place r

Errr, right now as I type this, I literally cannot AT ALL access the music submissions. The farthest I can go is the actual thread on which it says, at the bottom with underlined words, "Click here t

Apparently the problem exists only in IE.

I just checked safari, and I don't see the same thing.

Works fine, Firefox and IE for me.

No posts are centred. Userlist, reading this thread, signatures....nothing centred. I have no idea what you mean.

Screenshot?

What forum skin are you using?

Suggestion/concern.

The latest upload thing at the top of the page - great idea!

May I suggest, "Latest Upload - blah blah by: Blah [music]" Simply having all the colons, makes it look jagered. It may even work to have the music centered below this, for the sake of balancing the page.

I really don't like the "download" feature of it, though. I'm not sure everyone would like their pieces downloaded willy nilly.

Avatar.. It's been over 48 hours since I updated my avatar. It's worked on the network/my profile, but not on the forums

:headwall:

WIth the new music page layout - mainly having the download score and people who viewed this piece, on the right.. when you play the music, the music player clashes badly with this.

And the thing now over on the right of out posts - awesome idea. But what' with the "'s".. it looks so off, can't you just have the users name there? e.g "John's latest uploads"

Indeed an awesome idea! I really love to see what it someones latest work.

It uses about a 1/4 of the forum text space, and that is maybe a bit too much? Maybe the font can be a little smaller, although it may become too cluttered then. (which it isn't now)

So, I mainly want to thank you for adding this feature :D

Ow. Something that has been bothering me...

Something in the layout has changed

Things look really odd. I think these are interconnected

  • "download score file"
  • I do not understand the function of the score URL in the box
  • the whole right column (with fav composers, and liked works is moved

FF3.6

I do like the "So-and-so's Latest Music" ... but can we get somesort of a dividing line to help distinguish it from the actual post contect?

I'll check out the formatting of this tonight, I spent nearly all last night trying to just get the functionality :) I'm glad people are liking it so far. I'll probably do a character limit so I can also fit the number of replies next to the piece, and of course, I will format it as well so it looks pretty.

I'm currently showing displaying latest 6, but do you guys want to see latest 10? Let me know.

I think it should be on the left side of each post, where the name, picture, and friend status etc. are. That makes more sense to me than *in* the posts itself.

I agree, it looks a bit odd. I love the idea, but it's awkward as is, like it's slapped onto each post as an afterthought.

And why don't they link directly to the upload page? ^_^ Skip a step.

Thanks for the suggestion, applied!

Do other people think that this is too cluttered? I can try making the font smaller, maybe that will help? Maybe widening the forum will do the trick too.

I think putting this towards the left would reduce visibility. Let's try making the font smaller first to see if this helps.

I like the idea of the recent uploads in posts (since now I don't have to put those in my signature) but listing more than maybe the 5 or 6 most recent uploads seems overkill. I mean, there's not that much space to begin with and you don't want it looking cluttered. As it is it does look kind of cluttered... Can you create another box that's like the one on the left hand side of posts but use that for the recent uploads? And use the same small font? I think it may still look cluttered, but it might be better than what was just added. Or, another idea would be to put only the most recent upload in the left hand post box (is there an official name for that thing?) underneath Location and use the same small font.

I also noticed that sometimes the reputation button covers up what's in our signatures. Was that recently fixed?

I suggest getting rid of "reviews" and sticking to 5 TOPS. Like what Austin said, it wont work as well as it could if it's all cluttered up.

It would be nice if the "latest upload" thing up top was centred. At the moment it's very lopsided to the left..

A few of the ads on some of the pages are breaking out of their boxes.. if that makes sense. It's not as neat as it should be.

I like that it says how often it has been reviewed, but it looks a bit too table-ish (which is neat but too official for my taste).

From an esthetical pov I do not like the titles being truncated. On this current page only *all* the titles are truncated.

How about moving the thing to the left. I think I would reformat the user-info square. Maybe align the picture to the left, and in the right the top 5 titles. I guess they have to be truncated to fit in the square, but so be it then...

Here's what I will try. I will make a new music info square to the left, and put it underneath the main info square. Hopefully it will look nicer. Unfortunately I have to truncate the titles, some titles are so long that they will word wrap to the next line, making it look ugly and confusing. I could try putting alt text so that the full title appears when mousing over the links.

I think it will look nicer. Although the posts will become rather high, that is why I suggested to re-design the info square (a bit). But what you propose might work as well :D

Congrats for the new "Latest Music" and "Reviews" links, excellent idea (specially the Reviews, one can easily notice unattended music).

Just as a suggestion (and I'm not sure if would be better), most of the time there is available space below the avatar zone, perhaps those new links could be there....
