Looking for critique on this song.

I've been working on this song for a couple days and I'm looking for critique.

I'd best describe as music you might here as the opening to an anime or something.

It's not complete, but yeah.

I will write down here my experience of this piece.

Pros : relatively rich in complexity, multiple melodic lines at the same time, nice creative drumwork

Cons : The melodic themes does´nt seem that interesting, infact I can´t rememeber one melody

after the piece has ended. complex music can be memorable.

Summary : A good rhytmical piece but with weak melodies. The melodies seems kind of lost to me, unclear.

This piece has great parts

but as a whole it feels a little strange.

It indeed has potential to become very good

if it becomes more coherent in its structure.

I don´t know if you can follow me ?

For example the beginning of the piece sounds kind of strange to me.

The transition from about 0:20 does´nt sound good in my ears.

The transition from about 0:43 on the other hand is very good.

I suggest you keep that one :phones: :P

Regarding memorable melodies, I don´t know, maybe it would help to play the music on an instrument before

writing them down. I don´t know how you made this piece, whether you used a keyboard, or just plotted

the notes with the mouse. An example of a piece with what I would call a coherent structure is Menuet #1 BWV Anh. 114

by Bach.

I really dig the drums and bass, however I felt that you may have forced a few ideas together that shouldn't have. I really feel the J-Pop influences though. I would probably recommend listening to a couple of J-Pop/anime themes and really figure out what makes it tick and why you like it so much. Then go from there :D
