Rebels Prepare

Featured Replies

This is my original version of music for the scene in Star Wars (not scored) when the rebels are getting ready to launch from the 4th Moon of Yavin. Of course the recognizable bits are composed by John Williams. This cue, would start just after R2 bleeps a goodbye to Threepio while being installed in Lukes X-Wing. It ends ( with Lukes Theme and Bens Theme combined) just before the astral voice of Ben tells Luke "......The force will be with you.....always.."This is still a work in progress because something keeps nagging me about this, musically speaking.

Nifty! Any chance of uploading a link to the scene?

I like how you bring in the main theme but alter its mode.

What keeps nagging you about it? For me, the issue is thinking of Star Wars but hearing a different composer take a stab at it. The opening with the violins doesn't sound very Star Wars.

Are you gonna make it longer? That would be awesome.

Nice job, skyy!

Thank you for your kind words John- I really appreciate them!Especially since most people on the OTHER 'boards seem to be in permanent "put-down" mode.

The "violins" that you refer to is probably the cello patch that I used but didn't blend well enough in with the rest of the

ensemble. I probably should drop it altogether because it might be "brightening" things up too much.

I couldn't find the scene anywhere on Youtube-Sorry! If you have the movie at home, go for it! Threepio will say something

like " Please come back Artoo. You wouldn't want my life to get boring would you?"

Artoo beeps a reply.RIGHT AFTER THAT BEEP, start the cue and let it run until the end.

Seeing how this is a re-recording of something I did before, I *might* have dropped a couple of measures from the original arrangement but that shouldn't be too much of a problem. I need to make an official record chart of this anyways for

consistency.

There's really no need to make this longer because it just covers the aforementioned scene......

The "nagging" part of this, is that I keep thinking that I should be approaching this differently somehow, but I keep on

coming up short in the "solution dept.") Maybe there *isn't* a solution, but one of these days I just might surprise myself!

Again, thanks for the encouraging words!
