Diary II (animated short)

Featured Replies

This is a little animated short that I did the music for - for my portfolio.

Thanks for listening!

Dig the video man! Cool concept, and the scoring goes along with it in a really natural way. Leaves the viewer wondering about Diary III! I like the percussive hits to emphasize certain points in the video.

Thanks! :)

Btw, I did another little animation - basically a children's story with some music.

Pretty solid stuff, Daniel. The ending was my favourite bit when she's free falling through his online activity and you have the descending chromatic lines. Most of the instruments sound pretty good. The oboe lines like the one at 1:15 sound a little synthetic. I'm not sure if you can sequence it better or if you've reached the limits of the instrument.

Everything lined up really well with video. You captured a lot of the emotions really well too.

Peace,

-John

Wow very impressive! you managed to change the themes very quickly and yet keep a nice flow of the piece! ... the orchestration is very solid!! nice woodwind line when she wants to hit him with the hammer!

This video shows how can you manage composing for a lot of scenes!!

i think we all wish to have a chance to compose music for such a storyline ..

Keep it up !! great job!

Hey Daniel I really like the music. It suits very well with the animation. Great job!

Thanks, Jem, John and abd!

Animation used to be one of my big hobbies! It's a shame I didn't continue with it... But this gives me hope, maybe I can do similar collaborative works in the future. :)

Anyhow, the music fit really well with the animation, I think the emotions were well captured. The different themes were also nicely connected, which seems like it would have been a challenge, since they follow each other rather quickly.

I really enjoyed this! :D
