Sequence #17b

Featured Replies

YAY! I got another work done. I feel so happy. This is one of the very rare cases where I look at my old work (in this case sequence #17) and add more/change it. I like this because it is, as usual, a duet form but with many variations and a key change from a 7th :O I am so proud of myself :D YAY :DPlease comment and listen to my other pieces as well :) (HI CJ :D)

Sequence #17b

Hi Daniel! (And I guess CJ too! haha)

This is a nice work here! A few spots sounded odd in terms of harmony, like the tritone (A nat. and E flat) going to F and B flat. Now, I'm NOT SOMEONE WHO LOVES TRADITIONAL HARMONY! However, in this case, I think it would work better overall.

Just a few minor issues, but I like this piece.

Nice work! Thanks for posting :)

@ Heckel:

Thanks :D Perhaps I should sustain those notes... I will see what I can do :)

HAHA I HEAR SEVENTHS AGAIN :D nice!! i like how there's melody lines going in both flutes :) maybe you can add more passing notes (like UN or LN HAHAHA) so that the transitions can be more close-knitted. :D just a suggestion overall it's still a nice short little piece :) hopefully you can continue to expand on your ideas

Thank you CJ :) Ok, I will see what I can do. Can anybody tell me a little bit about accompaniment? I am thinking about writing a solo tenor piece (for myself HAHAHAHAHA). And I really need a accompaniment. From there perhaps I will try to experiment with accompaniment. Thanks again Cj :)

hmm what kind of accompaniment would you like? piano? orchestra? or others? depend on what works well with your vocal part. :)

but the piano can be an orchestra reduction though.

@CJ - piano first, because it is usually the basis for a lot of other opportunities.

you can add more passing notes (like UN or LN HAHAHA).

You remembered your theory lesson!

Daniel- I can help you with that too! What kind of a piece would this be? (i.e tonal, atonal, a rondo, waltz, etc.)

As for the piano part itself- Would you want it to be mainly chordal harmony (in which case you could use a string orchestra, which works well for those sorts of things) or would it actaully have pianistic elements and have melody parts and such?
