For Deborah

Featured Replies

Okay hello again! I've been very free recently so i composed this! This is actually dedicated to Deborah, one of my best friends. She's really happy(like me) everyday and she's very good at math and she has a child-like nature which is very cute hahaha(btw she's same age as me). For the voice, the lyrics are kinda stupid because it's dedicated for her to sing it hahahahahahahah but they're just TEMPORARY there(i may change it if someone more professional and "serious" is to sing it someday). Anyway the overall mood is to bring out the happiness within her(or me?) and since she's a soprano she told me: "eh cj i don't want any notes below middle C please haha" LOL. She loves high notes!Okay so this is the very first piece i'm dedicating to a friend. Two more dedication-al pieces coming up! p.s this midi rendition is very bad so don't expect much from it. I chose midi because the notes are very clear. Live instruments would sound definitely better. Maybe one day i can play the accompaniment while Deborah sings. And then I'll record it and put it on box.net so you guys can be at more peace listening to it. XDhope you guys like it! I'll show it to deborah soon when school reopens. =)And, this piece is quite short...hehe :P and the midi sadly doesn't play dynamics! urghh!

i like your piece! Not short, not long but: just perfect!

Thank you, Jan! =) since it's my first attempt at a vocal piece, i don't want the singer to run out of breath. Hopefully i can get to compose larger-scaled works and not make them run out of breath. Haha i think it's too short though hehehe maybe because it's quite fast.

Anyway thank you again! ^^

(I still love it.)

LOL.

This is actually so funny it's genius, in all honesty. I could barely take it when I saw the long string of "HAHAHAHAHAHAOHOAEHROA" for the vocalist

"Those who know my name will shudder, because I am like a thunder."

Ok, I just lost it there.

Awesomely bizarre lyrics aside (maybe you should keep them even if someone "serious" decides to perform it? It's just wacky enough to work, perhaps...), I think the music itself is also pretty strong, if a little bit "standard" for a Broadway-ish production. But it's appropriate for what you're doing, and very entertaining, so you won't hear a complaint out of me :D

(Just a note though -- what's with the introduction in the piano's left hand? Are you trying to make tremors there? Trust me, they're quite unnecessary :))

Thanks for sharing this piece with me -- I enjoyed it a lot :phones:

HAHA, yes initially i wanted to make tremelos and then i went to the piano to try it and it doesn't work at all =P but its too late to change since i uploaded...but do ignore it haha! Broadway-ish production??wow interesting! I have never thought of that! =D ..and the lyrics....hahaha but ofcourse the "hello my name is deborah" part HAS to go away...I can't imagine any other singer singing it and claiming themselves to be Deborah...haha..it'll be so unnatural. Maybe I'll change that part a little..the rest, keep the same perhaps? Haha thanks for your comment, ZachofArniVillage! XD
