Here is a Revised Version of my a piece I posted a month or 2 ago.

originally it was just a simple waltz and still is but I have also added a new Section and I am just wondering what everyones thoughts of it are.

This piece is excellent, I love your melody, it is very nice. Maybe a bit too repetitive in the beginning, but not to the point that I would complain. The section around 2:00 is awesome as well. I hear some Chopin influence  Probably one of the best, if not the best, waltz I have heard on YC so far. Great work!

YES!

that is exactly what I had hoped for[the some chopin influence part]

I know everyone on here tends to say not to worry about trying to sound like someone but I consider that the ultimate honor!

THankyou so much for your kind words Jen, You rox my sox!

I really like it but I am no good at critiquing Piano repertoire...so all I will say is I really like it.

It's really really nice! I can hear the Chopin influence too. It sounds very professional. I enjoyed listening to it a lot! You should get it recorded live. Do you have a score of it? I'd like to try and play it...

i would LOVE to get a real recording thank you all so much for your comments =D

Spirit of music, I can try and work a way to get the score for you it'll take me a day or so but i'll get it.

Thank you ;) If you could try and post it in pdf format- that would be easiest (I think?!)

right, but i'm not sure of what my composing program is capable of

Hi

I made a version of this for Meta using :

The Grand 2

Waves IR 1 Convolution Reverb ( Sydney Opera House Impulse )

I reprogrammed the midi dynamics completely .. and did the whole thing in about 2 minutes.. so forgive me if its not quite what you intended meta - but i had no guidance on it.. so i went with what sounded interesting.. to make it realistic it would need alot more work programming

Hope its useful to hear it in more depth..

WOW.

it's exactly how I hear it being played.

The only criticism I can hear of is a missing grace note, which actually sounds better. =) so relaly that's not a criticism.

Maybe it's just refreshing hearing a new take on it, But I think it sounds wonderful, thankyou SO much.

Joe,

Incredible. Sounds like you played it in real time. Where did you get a score? - I can't even get Meta's link to work? - Much less a score or a midi, which I don't see that he posted.

right now this is the best I can do is give you the midi. Melody 1.MUS

Thankyou for your comments Chris!

Woooo.

I like this a lot, it's so... I dunno, professional sounding.

At 1:37 the tempo randomly get faster, it sounds awesome but it's suprising, it seems to like skip a beat or something. It's weird. But awesome.

Thankyou mitchell!

... i think?

Wierd but awesome lol!

in general i like the piece, however:

1) The main theme is repeated too much, maybe it could do with a similar contrasting theme in place of some of the repetitions to remedy this?

2) where you go into triplets and faster tempo you revolve too much around the high A for my liking, maybe in this brief section you could explore the higher and lower ranges of the piano?

3) The ending is a bit of an anticlimax, for a piece of this nature it was rather unexpected! Maybe a revised ending with higher energy level at the end would suit it more.

In many places though very nice, with some very pianistic features! :)
