What are some good pieces to study brass chamber music writing? I have an assignment to write a brass duo/trio (I chose a trio) due Friday and I haven't been able to find anything decent.

    Try Puts' "Elegy for Brass".

     

    And really, any arrangement or piece by Boston Brass should show you what is possible and how to balance, their work is some of the best for brass, although they are a quintet.
