January 4, 201511 yr I am not sure to get as people recommend things left and right, and way torn between options. I am thinking of either getting Vienna special edition or ew gold as I can get it for 300 euro. What would be the better deal for someone just starting out with composing?
January 8, 201511 yr The essential difference between these two libraries is that ew gold has one microphone position that includes a bit of ambience. VSL, which I will be buying soon, does not. And I will be buying it for precisely this reason, because inherent ambience in some cases makes it harder to acheive a more nuanced mix. ew silver has a close mic position which may solve this problem. I cannot say. But it is more expensive. I would say on the whole that VSL requires more mixing finess and that you might prefer ew starting out.
