Elegy in D major

Featured Replies

Here is an elegy for string ensemble with solo violin and cello parts. Enjoy, and I appreciate your feedback.

I only want to say that I like it. This kind of "adaggio with strings" are vaery moving and have a long tradition.

I think this would be perfect to a series of pictures or something like that, or a movie without words...

The opening is awesome, sounds like early Schönberg or Richard Strauss. But, sadly, there is no significant development of musical material and everything remains too much the same all time. At 3:14 there should have been something different, such as polyphonic use of melodic lines, different atmosphere, activity... Anything would make music more exciting. Try it! I suggest you listen to Metamorphoses by Richard Strauss.
