To Journeys End - A Hero's Quest

Tried to go for a story with this one in particular. 

The start - Hero sets off on his quest to save the princess.

The middle - Fends of invading forces and sees the captured princess (1:18 during the calm)

The End - Fights off the villain and wins which leads to a peaceful finish.

This is more developed than the preview you sent me. If you don't mind, I'll do the review here.
Chord progressions... for me, it seems difficult to get invested in a multiple arc story with the same chord progression and tempo throughout the movement. Yes, there are variations on it, and I see the merit in having parts of the old melody flourished in the subsequent ones. However, I don't feel the intensity of the story quite as much.

Some of your melodies and countermelodies clash with each other and with the base chords. You don't have a score, so the section at about 1:41 is a good example; with the trombone countermelody. 

In your epic parts, especially the end, there also needs to be... not more drive, but more sound. I don't get a lot of bass voices in something I feel should be developing over time. It still feels like an exposition. Hopefully you know what I mean.

Yeah I see what you mean. I'm currently furthering my studies on piano chords and progressions. I'm working on something new to see if I am heading in the right direction.

I think that telling a story with music is very difficult. I you don't tell what it is about I could imagine any other situation. Just a few composers could tell a story with music (Wagner, Richard Strauss...).

I also hear the clash in 1:41 or so.

Nothing to add, but one suggestion: the harmony is all the time in vertical chords... Yes, perhaps it's to enforce the idea of epic. But some variation is always good. Besides, it's easier to write vertical harmonies than making counterpoint backgrounds.

Thanks! I went over it several times and sought to find the clashing. I think that is one of my biggest issues in which I tried to fix in my next piece I am going to post in a bit.
