November 27, 20178 yr First question: did you actually write 107 opuses cause that's quite a bit of music. Kinda lost where the piece was going between 26 and 29. The many runs that you put for each instrument really threw me off too. Some of the rhythms were somewhat awkward especially the random triplets. I do love the melody of the flute (then passed onto clarinet) at 82 however. Also the progression at 63.
November 28, 20178 yr You are quite capable of writing good and interesting passages. However, you have to be cautious not to overuse those passages. E.g. the first three minutes feel like a gigantic set of very closely related harmonic variations on the same descending musical scale. One really longs for the new musical ideas around 3:00. The melody of the contrasting passage starting at 3:40 is very fine. The comeback of the first theme is handled well, and the short descension into chaos around 8:30 is rather funny and well done. However, the soloist ending is a bit anti-climactic in comparison to the rest of piece. (Perhaps you could surprise the audience once more with a strong final chord after the last note of the soloist has faded out? Just an idea.) Edited November 28, 20178 yr by Willibald
