September 22, 20187 yr I'm wanting to impress doctorate programs with portfolios so I'm entering dissonant counterpoint along with one of the other tonal fugues I entered here. Does anyone see any mistakes or issues?
September 23, 20187 yr Hi. Nice piece. Nice sound the harpsichord. I've been taking a look at the score and it's interesting the different approaches. I wrote some dissonant counterpoint a few days ago. I read about it and I don't know if it has been established the "rules". I see you've been using seconds/sevenths mostly, with some tritones. When there are three voices, the feeling is stronger but it's well done seting the voices apart. I used seconds too, but also fourths, and sometimes other intervals in non strong places. But what I thing is most interesting is that it seems you wrote the piece from an atonal point of view, while I did it from a tonal one. In case you can hear it, I upoloaded it here:
October 25, 20187 yr Author @Luis Hernández In case you're still interested, I've attached an introduction to the rhythmic and notational concepts of dissonant counterpoint. Obviously, there's more to know, but here are some basic concepts.
