August 16, 200619 yr Good job. I like what you've done here. I didn't see any range problems. Except that part starting on page 20, the 1st bassoon should be in tenor clef, I don't know if the kind of finale you've used can change clef in the middle, it's not really important, but if this was ever to be performed, the bassoonist wouldn't like playing all those eight notes in bass clef. To me, freedom music is like a National Anthem, a march of some sort. I do get freedom feeling at the beginning and on the beginning of page 10. After the minor section, I think. All the rest sound like just music. Good music, yes. But not really freedom music. Alot of it sounds like a symphony or something to me.
August 16, 200619 yr Do you have an Mp3 of the file? My poor laptop doesn't enjoy the giant .MUS files.. :sadtears:
August 18, 200619 yr Good job. Some of the chords in there do not really follow the progression you had layed out but hey we are in the twentieth century. Just one thing......The bassoon part in measure 18 or something needs to be in tenor or alto clef. If I was a bassoon player I would hate reading that. Also, as a flutist I would say try to exclude high C's. If this were to be performed by an amatuer ensemble I can guarentee you that those notes would not be played or be played but with a very piercing tone. Just something to watch out for. Unless any flutist has a Gizmo key the note will not sound pleasureable. Hope this helped. Nice job. I like this one better than the first.
