August 5, 20196 yr I started working on a waltz and came up with a theme, but I'm not sure how to develop it. Can anyone give me any pointers? Thanks
August 5, 20196 yr Your choices are limitless. But try playing it backwards, at least the note values. Maybe change up the key, too, to a major one or the relavant dominant.
September 6, 20196 yr You could opt for a sort of extended sentence form, where the sections are based on rhythmic motive as opposed to short portions of repetition. For example, I'm pretty sure you're aware of the main , repeated rhythmic element of the work, so your next (short) section is based off a slightly different one. In the fragments, it can be whatever you'd like, as long as they're brief and somewhat related, then finish off with the original. You can expand rhythmic theme 2 from there if you're still inspired to go.
