August 27, 200619 yr My God-d-d! Well, it took ages to load but it was worth it. I absolutely LOVE this piece. It's all light and happy-making! (Then I love Chinese instrumental music, when I can find it) You've succeeded in blending Chinese melody with western harmony - it isn't new I know, but it's rare in pure instrumental music. I liked the chromatic sweep upward (at 1.38) to change key, was it a major third? More engaging than moving up just a semitone. Have you done anything else like this? Altogether nice. ;)
August 27, 200619 yr Well, I'm sitting here waiting for this thing to download..... M, Like the new avatar. ;) Reccori, Why not upload your stuff to soundclick or some other free site? That'll make the downloads quick and easy for the rest of us. It's been about ten minutes. Still waiting...
August 27, 200619 yr Well, I'm sitting here waiting for this thing to download..... M, Like the new avatar. Reccori, Why not upload your stuff to soundclick or some other free site? That'll make the downloads quick and easy for the rest of us. It's been about ten minutes. Still waiting... Hi, Leightwing.Yes, I waited for about half an hour last night - gave up. When I tried this morning (admittedly this is a one-horse town...or one pair-of-cocoa-tins-and-taut-string town! especially on Sunday morning) it loaded in about 3 mins. Not sure if it took up where it left off last night but that was a lot better. Thanks re the new avatar - it's a disposable with the pending update! Recorri: Yes, it's easy to sign up on soundclick. I personally felt this music was worth a lot more than people giving up because the load time was so long. M
August 27, 200619 yr Recorri! :) (I had no trouble downloading it..? It was fine on my computer) This is a cool little piece, I liked it very much actually. It has this cool, rolling flow to it and as the previous members mentioned, the instrument samples are cool, hehe. I think that considering you are just starting to try your hand at composition, you've done quite well. You have a theme, you developed it, had some fun, upbeat, interesting little sections and modulations, plus it was a good length for what it is. I especially liked the slower sections of the piece, like at 0:39 - 1:10, and at 1:55 to 2:25. They were sort of nostalgic, if that makes sense. The little chromatic transitions reminded me of flowers being thrown in the air. I feel silly for saying that. But it was a good thing. welcome to the forum, again, I'll watch for your future submissions. -G

I just heard this song through the new links. Haha, don't take me wrong, but I find this track strangely amusing the fact that I always find that chinese oboe-like instrument (that I never know the name to) very cheesy in modern pop. The only time I like it is when they played in Wong Fei Hong's theme. But there's a little bit of jazz in this track as well I guess.
August 28, 200619 yr Author Hisoka's my favourite character.I just heard this song through the new links......[/b] thnx for your comment! a little bit jazz :w00t: ? well, maybe~means that i put my work in the right section?~aha :ninja: ~ i like the oldschool music in Fei Hong's theme as well...but, probably like what you said....oboe-like instrument? you mean the flute or something...?~
