February 28, 20206 yr Shunned - Part 1.mp3I made some short ideas for a film maker earlier. Just wanted to share them with you guys. It's a psychological horror. Part 1: Introduction of the character Part 2: Her descent into madness Part 3: Glimmer of Hope, a ray of sun, in a cavern of despair Part 4: Ending theme. Drone shot over the aftermath (bodies)
February 28, 20206 yr Well, that's very apropriate for the genre/situation you're composing for. The only thing I'd say could be improved in this is the introduction. Perhaps you could orchestrate what you already have in a bit of a wider way, so that her descent into madness sounds even more relevant. That's just an idea though. Great job 🙂
March 7, 20206 yr I also think that this is very appropriete for the genre. The musical technique encapsulates the mood and internal feelings and struggles of the character really well. It reminds me a lot of the new Battlestar Galactica TV series soundtrack, with the long, droning notes and usage of distinct instrument combos to portray a feeling of loneliness and despair. I highly recommend giving a listen to some of the songs from the soundtrack, it's really good and I think you'll find a lot of similarities to your music there. Well done! Keep it up!!! 🙂 Edited March 7, 20206 yr by SwiggitySwewgity
March 7, 20206 yr The soundscapes here are very tasteful. I like the acoustic feel, makes it seem more 'raw.' I think the themes are non-intrusive—just the thing you'd want from a filmscore. It might strengthen the score if the themes were somehow connected via motifs or chord progressions or something. Just a thought... they're great how they are. Keep it up!
March 7, 20206 yr Author Thanks for the comments! Will reply to each one shortly. Here’s a slightly updated version with a new theme. it’s not supposed to be tied together. But two separate themes. The last theme is the monster theme.
