Prelude no 1 in C major

Featured Replies

hey I'm undertaking a project to write a short prelude in every key, please leave thoughts down below and any feedback is welcome.

Personally I think that's quite a significant task (continuing the Bach-Shostakovich tradition of 24 preludes (and fugues as well perhaps?)), and I wish you the best of luck on it. The prelude itself was to me harmonically pleasing and calm, emulating well the character of C major and with relatively interesting modulation transitionings without getting out of its key signature.

Well done! Looking forward to seeing more preludes of yours in each key!

Thanks! I would write fugues but my contrapuntal skills are awful so I probably would try some inventions first because it's a far less daunting undertaking. though if you wanted to write some accompanying fugues for the set your more than welcome too.
