August 21, 20205 yr Hello Everybody! I'm kind of new here, and I would like to have some feedback on my first ostinato based solo piano piece: Thank you for your help, Everybody have a nice day! Edited August 21, 20205 yr by composing4piano
August 21, 20205 yr I enjoyed this piece. W¡But why do you call it ostinato piece? Yes, there is pattern of repeating one note, that changes. Is it that?
August 21, 20205 yr Author Thank you! Well, I don't know what's the correct term for pieces that uses ostinato rhythm only (not repeating pitches, just repeating rhythm throughout the whole song)?
August 23, 20205 yr Wow. You are obviously quite a talented pianist and composer to have written and played this yourself. I admire your harmonic language and dexterity. One is never quite sure where they'll end up listening to the harmonic progression in this piece and yet it repeats seamlessly and ends in a quite a novel and unexpected place. So I guess that since this piece starts and ends on the tone F .. that means that it's in F major, right? Just kidding ... LoL Nice Job!
August 23, 20205 yr I liked this! Very nimble and light, and it fits the title perfectly 😁 It's fun as a standalone piece, but I think it would be nice in a suite for piano with some contrasting movements. It leaves the listener wanting more, which is great. Well done
